Carnival Cruise Lines Shore Excursion Best Price Guarantee

I had forgotten about the ad Carnival has on their pages for the 110% shore excursion price guarantee, until after we booked our excursion. Fortunately, we had booked our excursion with Carnival, and I recalled the offer within the allowed time frame to submit it. This was my first time submitting a claim like this, and I was impressed with the results.

Terms and Conditions for the price guarantee

  • You must reserve the excursion through Carnival prior to your cruise. 
  • You must complete and submit an online Shore Excursion Best Price Guarantee claim form at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of your cruise.
  • The Best Price Guarantee is available only for exact shore excursion matches, for example, duration of the shore excursion, transportation fees, and the exact same dates of the shore excursion as booked through Carnival Cruise Line. 
  • Lower rate must be publicly advertised and available to the general public at the time your claim is filed, as determined by Carnival Cruise Line personnel. (Rates offered on membership program websites, corporate discounts or rates; group, charter, rewards program, etc., etc., or prices available only by using a coupon or other promotion not offered to the general public are ineligible.)

Submitting the claim form


Filling out the claim form was fairly easy. Here is the link to the form, and I have included a screen shot below.

I added a few notes to the screen shot above, as it took me a couple of tries before my form submitted. You will need to submit a separate form for each booking number, if applicable. For example, I purchased three tickets under my Carnival account; however, one ticket was for our son who has a separate booking number. I had to submit two claim forms. 

Results and overall

The message I received after submitting the form said I would hear something within 48 hours. I received a reply less than 24 hours later saying my submissions had been approved. The 110% refund is in the form of an onboard credit. The price difference for the excursion I submitted was only $4.99 each, so we are each receiving a credit for $5.49.

I love this price guarantee by Carnival Cruise Lines, as I prefer to book with them. Knowing that Carnival knows of my whereabouts when we are docked gives me peace of mind. We have been on a few cruises when guests did not return to the ship before it left port, and then they were on their own to find transportation to the next port. Additionally, the excursion we booked is at a tender port, which means no stress waiting to get to shore for an excursion booked through an outside company.
