Platinum perks and arrival

I reserved a 2 queen bed suite at this location because the price was reasonable, and we wanted a room with a sitting area (there were no king suites available). We had an excellent arrival experience and received an upgrade to a family suite. Before the front desk agent gave us the upgrade, she asked if a room on the second floor was okay, since my profile request is for the top floor.

This guestroom is huge! We loved the sitting area, and the separate bedroom. The guestroom diagram, which shows that this guestroom has a connecting door is incorrect. This room does not have a connecting room door.

One thing I do not understand is why hotels place the TVs at the foot of the beds and next to the work desk, rather than across from the sofa when the guestroom has a separate sitting area. We could barely see the TV at the foot of the queen beds from the sofa. Also, when I am working at the desk, and my husband wants to watch TV, this creates a distraction for me.

This guestroom has a separate bedroom with a door that could be closed. The bedroom contained a king size bed, second flatscreen TV on an armoire, nightstands, a telephone, an overhead light and lamps, and a separate thermostat. The bed was comfortable.

The only disappointing thing about the rooms in this hotel is that the larger rooms overlook the parking lot, rather than the woods and park out back.

Food and beverage

Breakfast in the morning was good quality. The foods were fresh and hot. Along with the traditional breakfast foods, this hotel had many additional options, such as gluten free foods, and packaged snack bars.

Misc. and overall

After driving all day, we really enjoyed walking the paved Indiana Michigan River Valley Trail, which runs directly behind this hotel. The trail is partially visible through the window in the photo above. 

Overall, this was a great stay, and we have already booked a future stay at this hotel. Let me know if you have any questions!
