Double queen guestroom 509 in Marriott Courtyard
Using points, I reserved a two queen bed guestroom with a balcony. We did not need two beds; however, a king bed guestroom with a balcony was not available. I was glad that we were able to reserve a balcony guestroom using points.

This guestroom is on the top floor, and overlooks downtown. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. Refreshment amenities in the guestroom included a Keurig coffeemaker with supplies, ice bucket, and small fridge.

There was plenty of room for our suitcase at the end of the spacious desk located at the foot of the beds. A chaise style loveseat was located next to the balcony door.

The spacious bathroom contained a large walk-in shower with plenty of shelves.

This hotel has a large indoor/outdoor whirlpool tub in the pool area. We liked this area, although the tub felt slimy in areas, as if it had residue buildup. Parking is free in the lot behind the hotel, although we did need a parking pass for our vehicle.

Upper Macatawa Natural Area
We stopped to hike/walk in Upper Macatawa Natural Area on our way to Holland. This was our first visit, and the walk was beautiful. We stayed on the tar path and walked north and south from the 84th Avenue Trailhead parking lot.

There is no fee to enter this 612 acre property, and is contains: mountain bike trails, hiking and ungroomed cross-country ski trails, paved bike trails, scenic overlook decks, picnic tables, rustic toilets, and hunting by special permit. It was a beautiful stop!
Downtown in Holland, Michigan February 2024 |
Downtown Holland
Many businesses and Lake Macatawa are within walking distance of the Marriott Courtyard. There was no snow when we visited this year, and when there is, Holland is prepared for it. They have heated sidewalks! 😊 A couple of places were visited were New Holland Brewing and Cherry Republic winery/store. New Holland had Happy Hour from 4PM to 6PM. We had great beers and good service. At Cherry Republic we had good service, although I thought the tasting price was a bit high--$9.54 (with tax) for 6 small tastes.
Let me know if you have any questions! Safe travels to all ~
