Nashville, Tennessee / Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville South Cool Springs

November 2017, Weekday-Holiday, 1-night, Premium king room 915

I redeemed points for a king bed guestroom for three people when I made the reservation (the sofa is a sofa sleeper).

Diamond perks and check-in

I did not check-in before I arrived, because there are 9 floors in this hotel, and only 8 floors were showing as options to choose from. The system had also chosen a room for me right across from the elevator, and my profile is for a room away from the elevator. I called to ask about a room on the top floor, and learned that the premium guestrooms are on floors 7 and 9. I asked about an upgrade to a premium room with my Diamond status, and the agent said I could probably get one when I arrived, because there were rooms available.

My room had not been assigned when we arrived to check-in Thanksgiving evening. I inquired about an upgrade to the top floor, and the agent gave us the same room type on the 9th floor. The only difference in the premium rooms (unless you get a corner or executive room) are the beverage and snack amenities. The premium rooms have a Keurig k-cup coffeemaker, and a few snacks and beverages are included with the room. I also received a Hilton Honors bag at check-in with bottled water and a snack.

Suite 915

This guestroom is a basic style king bed Embassy Suites guestroom. It is away from the elevator on the top floor, and it has a connecting room door. The connecting room door is between the wet bar counter and the sofa. The wet bar/snack area also contained a sink, microwave, and small fridge. The supplied k-cups included tea, hot chocolate, regular coffee, decaf coffee, and flavored coffee. A safe was located under the sink.

Suite 915
The window behind the curtain slid over, so half the area was open to the outside.
The windows in the bedroom are very large, and they can be opened all of the way with no barrier to the outside; not even a screen. I like it when I am able to open the window in hotel rooms; however, this one was kind of scary. One could step outside the window onto the tiny ledge. This seems like a potential for disaster if the window is open with children in the room, or if guests have had too much to drink. I leaned out the open window to take the sunrise photo at the top of this post.

Bedroom in suite 915
The bedroom area was well soundproofed, and the bed was comfortable. I especially liked the pillows. The bedroom contained a second flatscreen TV on a chest of drawers, vanity or second desk area with chair, nightstands, and a closet.

The bedroom has a door, and the bathroom is located outside the bedroom, across from the wet bar area. It is nice to have the bathroom outside the bedroom when there are more than two people in the guestroom. I have stayed in some Embassy Suites where the bathroom is located inside the bedroom.

The living room area contained a sofa, soft chair, footstool, end table, lamps, flatscreen TV, and a table with two chairs. The seating was comfortable.

The Internet connection speed in the guestroom was good.

Food & Beverage

The evening social included fresh vegetables and dip, along with a couple of chip and trail mix type snacks. The quality was good. Non-alcoholic beverages were available in a self-serve dispensing machine. Alcoholic beverages were available in an area at the bar. House wines, well drinks, and a few beer choices were included for no additional charge. The service was excellent.

Breakfast items included an omelet station with fresh foods. The buffet had typical items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, and breads. Beverages were also available.

Pool

The inside pool and hot tub area is spacious. The area was warm, and the water temperatures were good.

Overall and misc.

We were happy with the service at this hotel, and the comfort of the guestroom. The service was better than we had received at the nearby Hilton a couple of years prior, although the sleep quality at the Hilton was more luxurious.

It is easy to access this hotel from I-65. Even though guestroom 915 faces the expressway, we did not hear traffic noise.
