Lansing, Michigan: Holiday Inn Express, Visitor Bureau and area

November 2024, weekend, one night

I am sharing a few photos and some basic information from our Lansing visit last month.

Holiday Inn Express East Lansing, king suite guestroom 326

I reserved a basic king guestroom in this hotel. As a platinum member, I received an upgrade to a king suite. The guestroom was clean and comfortable.

This hotel no longer had Keurig k-cup machines in the guestroom; however, you can request one from the front desk, which we did. At first, I was not crazy about this, since I like coffee first thing in the morning without having to go get it. In the end, I loved this. It was not difficult to get a machine and supplies for our guestroom, and the fresh brew machine in the breakfast room made fabulous coffee!

Prizes from the Choose Lansing Craft Beverage Pass

Downtown Lansing and Visitor Center

Lansing is very walkable with miles of paved trails along the Grand River downtown. We had nice enough weather to walk along the river, and we enjoyed visiting some of the local breweries. We participated in Lansings' Craft Beverage Pass, and received a couple of beautiful stainless steel stemless wine glasses. We completed our visits on the weekend, and unfortunately, were unable to pick up our prizes before we left town. We were afraid we would have to wait until our next visit to receive them; however, Choose Lansing was kind enough to mail them to us. 😊 One of our favorite places to visit, which is in the beverage pass, is Looking Glass Brewing Company in DeWitt--great food and beer!

Misc. and overall

We love to visit Lansing, and usually plan a trip at least once a year. There is one hotel located downtown along the river that we stayed in about 15 years ago when it was Radisson. As we were walking around town this visit, I noticed this hotel is now a DoubleTree. We tend to stay in hotels where I have a membership, and if I had realized the downtown Lansing hotel is now a Hilton property before our stay, we would have stayed there instead of in East Lansing. The Holiday Inn Express was acceptable; however, if we had stayed downtown, we could have walked from the hotel, rather than driving to the river trail parking lot. And, I currently have Hilton diamond status, which is expiring in 2025.

Let me know if you have any questions!
