Berea, Kentucky: Holiday Inn Express

January 2024, Sunday & Monday, two nights

Arrival and platinum perks

Check-in was easy, and my bonus points posted to my account right away. I had reserved a suite when I made the reservation, as the cost was reasonable.

Holiday Inn Express guestroom 309 in Berea, Kentucky

King bed suite #309

This suite is spacious, although I wonder if it is really any larger than a basic guestroom. Looking at the guestroom diagram and external building photos, it looks like the guestrooms are all the same size (other than one wider room shown on the diagram near the elevator).

The spacious bathroom is located just inside the entrance, and it contained a tub/shower combination. There is a hanging closet and full length mirror in the entry hall. The entryway leads into a seating area, which contained a sofa, soft chair, coffee table, and desk and chair. A K-cup coffeemaker with supplies was on the desk.

A large flatscreen TV was located on the armoire at the foot of the bed. A small fridge and microwave were located in the armoire. The bedsheets were good quality, although the mattress was a bit firm for my preference. It was mostly quiet in the guestroom during our stay.

Food & beverage

Breakfast included the usual Holiday Inn Express foods: pancake maker, cinnamon rolls, fold-over frozen omelets, sausage, cereals, oatmeal, breads, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and hot and cold beverages.

Misc. and overall

This hotel was clean and well-maintained. It is located about 40 minutes south of Lexington, and was easy to access from I-75.
