It looks like it will be setting around 6:30 p.m. in April. One suggestion I do have about the candlelight dinner is to request the gazebo instead of the beach. Initially, we thought it would be kind of cool to dine on the beach, but then we decided that if it rained, we would be covered in the gazebo. And, I think if there are any bugs out (we did not experience any, but you never know), there would apt to be more on the beach sand, than in the gazebo.

Have a great trip! We cannot wait to go the Sandals Royal Caribbean at the end of the year.IrisTinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11030705707575074217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7550343861287534569.post-27987914075994047682014-03-03T15:55:06.806-05:002014-03-03T15:55:06.806-05:00Hi there... Loved your detailed review. We are he...Hi there... Loved your detailed review. We are headed to Halcyon in April and are really looking forward to it. We are going for our 20th anniversary and was wanting to book the candlelight dinner... I see that you did that, and was wondering what time you would suggest us to book it? We would like to see the sunset during our dinner. Did her friend have specific things about what she thought was horrible? We had read some bad reviews, too. Did you see my other post before this one--Tipping at all inclusive resorts? I wrote that post before our stay because I got worried about the bad reviews I read. That post has just a bit more info, too.

During our stay, the staff was great, the food was superb, and our room was always clean, other than the minor housekeeping inconstancies I wrote about. The beach is not fabulous like it is at Grande, but we expected that from what I had read before our trip. We did take a glass of wine to dinner at Kelly's because of what I had read about the rude wine waiter (I am pretty sure I know who people were referring to).

As to whether you think you will be happier at another resort--What kind of room do you have booked, and what are your expectations/what is important to you?IrisTinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11030705707575074217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7550343861287534569.post-22393524046797349292014-01-02T10:04:16.986-05:002014-01-02T10:04:16.986-05:00Wow your review is very extensive and informative....Wow your review is very extensive and informative. My wife and I are going next week and I am reading tons of bad reviews about the resort over Christmas 2013. Her friend from work just came back last weekend and said it was horrible and they are big Sandals members, so I'm wondering what's going on there? Your review seems like you had a great time, was last week an anomaly or should we consider switching to the Grand or La Toc? -Karl in ClevelandAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
